About the owners

Roy Torgeirson

Rigs & Things was founded by Roy. He made his first jump on July 4th., 1974, back in his home country of Norway.
He was very proud to be part of the first ever 10 way Club formation in that country, and the first family four way team, most of the jumpers with chest mounted reserves and round parachutes.
Roy was very active in the mid 70's to the early 80's. He received his Norwegian D-187 in 1979.
He held club office as President in the northernmost Parachute club in the world, Kirkenes, from 1977 to 1981. The place is only about 10 miles from the Russian border and they could look over to Russia when climbing to altitude in the Cessna 172, with no door, frozen stiff and blue in the face. Needless to say, the season was kind of short. However, in the summer months with the midnight sun, there was no such thing as a sunset load.
Roy moved to Cape Coral, Florida in 1984.
He is a Certified USPA Tandem Instructor Examiner, AFF and Static Line Instructor, S&TA, Pro Rating holder, Pilot and certified FAA Senior Rigger.

Roy's brother, Terry, was also actively jumping for many years and was Roy's mentor and jumping buddy.
Terry died from cancer in August 2007.
At least seven family members have made tandem jumps.

Anne-Laure Touron
French jumper Anne-Laure joined as a business partner in 2002.
She is a USPA certified Coach Course Examiner, AFF, Tandem and Static Line Instructor, Pro Rating holder, Pilot and certified FAA Senior Rigger.
