Harness and container systems are tested to a maximum speed and maximum weight limits to confirm that they are strong enough to sustain the opening forces. These limits are based on general skydiving speeds and weights.

Your main parachute, reserve parachute, harness and container, and or automatic activation device (AAD) may not work properly, or at all, if deployed at speeds greater than what they are rated for. Additionally, these components may not function properly under extreme body positions as opposed to face to earth freefall.
